Our team of Certified Life Care Planners consists of occupational therapists and specialists in disability management. Each consultant brings their own unique clinical experiences working with a wide variety of clients, including those who have sustained spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations, complex orthopaedic injuries, and psychiatric disorders. As well, all of our consultants have an excellent understanding of the automotive legislation industry. Our team of consultants is led and supervised by Bonnie Koreen, an Occupational Therapist and a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner, and Jared Cappel, a Disability Case Manager and Certified Life Care Planner.
Bonnie Koreen is a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists and holds registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She is Internationally Certified in Impairment and Disability Rating based on the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 4th edition and holds a Post Graduate Certificate Programme in Life Care Planning from Sprott/Carleton University. She has worked as an OT for over 45 years and has prepared in excess of 750 Future Care Needs and Costs Analysis/Life Care Plan reports for use in rehabilitation planning, mediation, arbitration, settlement discussion and litigation. Bonnie has provided expert testimony in Canadian courts on several occasions. Bonnie has been asked to speak to different groups about life care planning including the Osgoode Professional Development group and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. She is the co-author of Sprains, Strains and Automobiles: A Medically Illustrated Guide to Commonly Litigated Injuries, published by Carswell/Thomson Reuters in November 2011.
Jared Cappel holds an Honors Bachelor of Health Sciences (BHSc) degree and a Certificate in Writing from Western University, a Certificate in Integrated Disability Management from University of Fredericton, and a Certification in Life Care Planning (LCP-C) from Fig Education. He has worked for approximately 20 years in the automotive insurance industry in various roles, including as a researcher, medical summarizer, editor, and costing specialist. Additionally, he has provided private case management services to those following a sustained loss. Since 2023, he has worked as a Certified Life Care Planner, preparing Future Care Needs and Costs Analysis/Life Care Plan reports for clients with life-altering injuries, including from motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, and medical malpractice injuries. Jared has been asked to speak about Life Care Planning by TD Insurance.
