Our associates are all certified occupational therapists in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. Each therapist provides her own unique clinical experiences from a wide variety of specialties, including brain injury, motor vehicle accidents, catastrophic determination, pediatrics, mental health, and addictions. As well, all of our OTs have an excellent understanding of the automotive legislation industry.
Our team of occupational therapists is led and supervised by Bonnie Koreen, an Occupational Therapist and a Canadian Certified Life Care Planner. Bonnie is a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists and holds registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario. She is internationally Certified in Impairment and Disability Rating based on the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, 4th edition She has worked as an OT for over 35 years.
Prior to working in the insurance/motor vehicle accident field, Bonnie worked with patients with mental health and addiction problems both in hospitals and for community agencies. Since 1993, Bonnie has worked in private practice in the insurance/motor vehicle accident field performing assessments, and providing short term treatment and case management services for individuals who have sustained traumatic injuries as a result of personal injury or medical malpractice.
Since 1999, Bonnie has been supervising a team of OTs, to provide services to insurers, defence and legal counsel, and multidisciplinary health companies. In this role, Bonnie and her team assess and provide rehabilitation services to individuals of all ages who have sustained traumatic injuries resulting in cognitive, physical, behavioural, and/or psychological problems.
In addition, Bonnie has prepared in excess of 500 Future Care and Costs Analysis/Life Care Plan reports for use in rehabilitation planning, mediation, arbitration, settlement discussion and litigation. Bonnie has provided expert testimony in Canadian courts on several occasions.
Bonnie has been asked to speak to different groups about life care planning including the Osgoode Professional Development group and the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists. She has been extensively involved in volunteer pursuits, including work with The Out of the Cold program, The Brain Injury Association of Toronto and The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of Canada.
Bonnie is the co-author of Sprains, Strains and Automobiles: A Medically Illustrated Guide to Commonly Litigated Injuries, published by Carswell/Thomson Reuters in November 2011.
